![]() I suspect that messages may be re-downloaded from server. they are not a danger to your Mac, as long as you don't fall for a phishing scam in one of them. You could also just ignore them, and delete any suspicious e-mails when you encounter them. You should locate them within Mail and delete them there, if necessary. The messages ClamXav is finding are undoubtedly either suspected phishing e-mails or they have Windows malware attachments. ![]() ![]() You should only delete messages from within Mail. Second, this kind of improper removal does not delete the messages from the mail server, which can result in the messages reappearing in Mail later, as you have observed. You will need to go through and rebuild your mailboxes, by selecting mailboxes and then using the Rebuild command in the Mailbox menu. First, it can result in corruption of Mail's mailboxes, which could lead to all manner of issues, including loss of data. There are two problems involved with that. The issue is why does ClamAV continue to find the same files to delete once "Mail" is rebooted!īecause you shouldn't be allowing ANY anti-virus software to remove e-mail messages from Mail. there is no Mac version of ClamAV unless you compiled the ClamAV source code for Mac OS X yourself (assuming that's even possible, which is not something I have knowledge about). ![]()
